Ingredients
- 1 1/3 Cups Warm Water (100-110 F)
- 2 1/4 Teaspoons Platinum Yeast (Red Star)
- 1 Tablespoon Sugar
- 2 Tablespoons Olive Oil
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
- 3 1/2 Cups Flour - All Purpose
- 1 Sprinkle Cornmeal (pan dusting)
Directions
- 1. Whisk the warm water, yeast, and 1 Tablespoon sugar together. Cover and let rest for 5 minutes.
- 2. Add 2 Tablespoons olive oil, 1 Teaspoon salt, and flour. Beat for 2 minutes.
- 3. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead the dough for 5 minutes. Poke it with your finger - if it slowly bounces back it's ready.
- 4. Lightly grease the above mixing bowl with 2 Tablespoons olive oil. Place the dough in the bowl and roll it to cover all sides of the dough in oil. Cover the bowl (foil, plastic wrap, or clean towel). Allow the dough to rise at room temperature for 60-90 minutes or until double in size. (Can use proof setting on oven if room temp is too low)
- 5. Preheat oven to 475 degrees.
- 6. Divide the dough in half and roll it into a 12 inch diameter circle roughly 1/2" thick.
- 7. Dust the pan with cornmeal and place the shaped dough onto the pan.
- 8. Add toppings and bake for 13-15 Minutes
